Construction in Progress

Construction of Black Rock Wind Farm is in progress. At least 6 turbines have been completed. This is a pic of one.

Black Rock Wind Farm approved

Black Rock Wind Farm received approval to proceed with their project on November 19, 2019. The project size was reduced to 23 turbines and each will be 590 ft tall. The turbines are Siemens-Gamesa SG 5.0-145.

About Me

I am one person, not a group. I have lived in New Creek over 20 years and will be less than one mile from this wind farm. I first found out about BRWF from a notice in the paper 7/15/19 about a public hearing on 7/26/19. They provided less than 2 weeks notice about this hearing. I have spent many hours since researching this issue by reading the PSC filings and speaking to others that will live near this atrocity. Most of those I spoke to did not know that these turbines would be almost twice the size of the Mt. Storm turbines. Even many of those who spoke to the developer and were offered "Good Neighbor Agreements" did not know the height of these turbines.
